It serves as a text that poses numerous enigmatic questions, the answers to which serve as a prelude to delving into this intricate occurrence and unveiling its truth. These inquiries revolve around the manifestations and expressions of identity turmoil within the playwright Henri Kria's work "The Earthquake," has represented a form of profound and essential engagement with questions of language, identity, and history, seeking self-discovery through the other and the other through self-exploration. Its contents have deepened the meanings of that dialectical relationship between the nation's past and its present, crystallizing the Algerian human consciousness of its history and identity.

خاضت المسرحية الجزائرية المكتوبة باللّغة الفرنسية معركة الدّفاع عن الهوّية وإعادة الاعتبار للذّات الجزائرية ضدّ الآخر المحتل الذي حاول طمس معالمها وتشويهها،وقد شكّلت مسرحية الزلزال لهنري كريا المكتوبة باللّغة الفرنسية هي الأخرى منعرجا هامّا في إثبات انتمائها، ماجعلها ظاهرة جديرة بالبحث         والدّراسة، ونصّا يحمل تأويلات عديدة ويطرح تساؤلات متنوّعة وغامضة، تكون الإجابة عنها تمهيدا للوقوف من خلال هذا المقال عند هذه الظّاهرة المعقّدة وإجلاء حقيقتها،وتدور هذه التّساؤلات حول مظاهر وتجلّيات قلق الهوّية لدى الكاتب المسرحي "هنري كريا" في نصّه "الزلزال" الذي مثّل نوعا من الاشتغال العميق والجوهري حول أسئلة اللّغة والهوّية والتّاريخ بحثا عن الذّات من خلال الآخر وعن الآخر عبر الذّات        وعمّقت مضامينه تلك العلاقة الجدلية بين ماضي الشّعب وحاضره وبلورت وعي الإنسان الجزائري بتاريخه وهوّيته.
