Digital Technology at the Service of Online Co-learning of FFL: from Personal Commitment to Vocational Training. Case of the Department of French at the African University -Adrar

Abstract

The following research paper deals with the introduction of digital technology in the distance-teaching/learning FFL process during the COVID19. A survey will be conducted among both students and teachers within the department of French at Adrar University. The main objective of this contribution is to analyse the “how” and the “why” of the process of adapting and integrating this new technology through different platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, Moodle, etc.)The main question is how interactions and virtual exchanges can make university teaching more effective? In addition, the paper answers further questions: Are teachers skilled to integrate digital technology into teaching practices in the service of co- learning? What are the risks of this type of education in the context of southern Algeria? How to overcome the lack of equal opportunities for Internet access between students in view of the socio-geographical context of Adrar University?

Résumé

Cet article aborde la problématique du travail en réseau, du  numérique et du co apprentissage du français en ligne  imposé par la pandémie Covid-19 afin de sauver l’année universitaire. Il  résulte  d’une enquête menée auprès d’un public universitaire composé d’étudiants et d’enseignants. L’objectif assigné à cette contribution est d’analyser le « comment » et le « pourquoi » de l’adaptation des  nouvelles pistes pédagogiques innovantes qui mettent le numérique en avant sous toutes ses formes ; plateformes, applications comme Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, Moodle, etc. Nous nous évertuons  à  répondre aux questions suivantes : comment le numérique peut-il rendre l’enseignement universitaire plus efficace de par des  interactions virtuelles et des échanges infinis? Les enseignants sont-ils formés à intégrer le numérique et les TIC dans les pratiques enseignantes au service de l’apprentissage? Comment pallier le manque d’égalité des chances d’accès à internet entre les étudiants en vu du contexte sociogéographique de l’université d’Adrar ?
